Our mission
In a market where flagship-brand frames cost as much as a small car, ChinerLab exists to analyze the alternative: high-quality Chinese carbon. We are here to separate the genuinely solid products from the dangerous "clones" and to help European cyclists make informed decisions among the hundreds of brands that flood AliExpress every day.
For every ranking we collect specs declared by manufacturers, monitor real customer feedback and compare prices to direct Western competitors. What you read on this site is our distilled recommendation, not a manufacturer press release.
The team behind ChinerLab
We are a collective of cycling mechanics, amateur testers and bargain hunters in the Chinese market. We spend hours on dedicated technical forums (Chinertown, Reddit r/chinarbike) and monitor AliExpress customer feedback to identify products that deserve a spot in the rankings.
We deliberately keep ourselves anonymous so that no individual brand is favored or penalized based on personal commercial relationships: we want every ranking to read as a neutral collective verdict, not as a single reviewer's opinion.
How we select products
- Manufacturer-declared technical specs (weight, materials, construction).
- Real reviews and customer feedback on AliExpress.
- Independent discussions and tests on Chinertown and Reddit r/chinarbike.
- Manufacturer reputation: years of activity and visibility in the international cycling community.
- Price-to-spec ratio compared to equivalent Western brands.
What we don't do
- —We don't physically test every product in the rankings.
- —Weight and material specs come from the manufacturer and may vary slightly in real-world units.
- —Affiliate commissions never influence ranking positions.
- —We don't accept free products from manufacturers in exchange for positive coverage.
Affiliate transparency
ChinerLab is funded exclusively through the AliExpress affiliate program. When you buy a product through one of our links we earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you. It is our only revenue stream and it lets us keep the site free, with no intrusive ads and no paywalls.
Editorial FAQ
Do you physically test every product?
No. We aggregate publicly available data: declared specs, real customer feedback on AliExpress, discussions on Chinertown and Reddit r/chinarbike, and comparisons with equivalent Western brands. Our value is editorial filtering, not first-hand testing.
How often do you update the rankings?
When a relevant new model is released or when community feedback signals a significant shift. We don't update for the sake of updating — a stable ranking is a sign of a strong initial selection.
